Functional medicine is a type of healthcare the looks for the underlying causes. It understands the reality that all the body systems are interconnected. It’s easier to understand in education and in clinical practice as separate systems, but this is not how the body actually works. Functional medicine uses lab testing to evaluate how everything is connected. Different types of stressors like inflammation, toxins, poor diet, infections – can cause different systems to break down and can cause different symptoms in different people. These problems can accumulate over time if not corrected. As one system breaks down, it begins to affect another. With lab testing, we can find the causes and see which systems are affected. With specific protocols, we can correct these imbalances with holistic natural solutions.
Most people have never heard of functional medicine. Some have found it through research, by accident, referrals through friends or family, or connections in the health care industry. Of those who do know, many agree it is a healthcare that is underutilized.
This is why Thrive Functional Medicine exists, because it is underutilized. It’s a type of healthcare that many people need, but do not know about. Most people with health problems accept a diagnosis and identify with it. A diagnosis means other people have the same thing and they are not alone. This is comforting for some. For others, it’s frustrating. Some people feel they deserve another explanation, or some level of hope for an alternative. There must be a reason, or contributing factors that caused it in the first place.
Our mission is to bring the advanced model of finding the causes, to everyone. We want to reach anyone who is strongly motivated to feel better and live a healthier life. Since our goal is to make functional medicine accessible, we work hard to make it affordable and convenient. We have streamlined our processes with at-home test collections and remote Telehealth consultations. With efficient systems in place, we are able to deliver functional medicine results to as many people as possible.
Each of us have our calling or role in life. Sometimes health problems interfere and steer us off course. We enjoy anyone working with anyone who wants to get back to normal, improve their health, or perform at an optimum level. So, whatever your role is – wife, mother, dad, husband, student, business owner, employee, entrepreneur, counselor, musician, artist, teacher, athlete, engineer, scientist, provider, or caregiver – all can benefit. Then, when we feel our best, we can continue and fulfill our calling.
